Two churchgoing ladies got into a scuffle over supposed missing jewelry, but the good book came to the rescue.
A 63-year-old Council Bluffs woman came calling Oct. 27 to the midtown home of an 81-year-old Omaha woman. Both attend the same church, Omaha police said.
The visitor said she wanted her stolen jewelry back. The Omaha woman was taken aback by the comment and blocked her guest from going into the bedroom to look at her jewelry box.
The Council Bluffs woman pushed the older woman and grabbed her shoulders, police said. The Omaha lady pushed back and said she was going to call 911.
Then her guest demanded a bookmark that she said also had been stolen.
The older woman said she didn't have her bookmark.
To get her visitor out of the house, she took a bookmark from her Bible and threw it at her. The Council Bluffs lady left.
No injuries were reported, police said.
