UNO junior forward Zahn Raubenheimer has been named the WCHA offensive player of the week for Nov. 6. Raubenheimer had four goals last weekend to lead the Mavericks to a road sweep of Michigan Tech.
Raubenheimer is the first Maverick to be recognized by the WCHA for his on-ice achievements this season.
The native of Smoky Lake, Alberta, posted the finest weekend of his collegiate career to date, with four goals on 12 shots and a plus-4 rating in the series. On Friday, he had both UNO goals, including the shorthanded game-winner with 1:10 left in regulation, as the Mavs beat Michigan Tech 2-1. It was the first multiple-goal game of his career and his first career shorthanded goal.
The following night, Raubenheimer had two more goals, including another game winner, as the Mavericks came from behind to beat the Huskies 5-3.
Raubenheimer is tied for the team lead in scoring with eight points and is tied for the team lead with five goals. He has already doubled his career goal total in just eight games.
The Mavericks return to action for Homecoming weekend, Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's game begins at 7:07 p.m., and Sunday's game is at 2:07 p.m.
