YORK, Neb. – Two farmers reported seeing a mountain lion four miles east of Thayer on Thursday afternoon.
A dispatcher with the York County Sheriff's Office said the farmers reported that they saw the animal cross the road in front of them about 1:30 p.m. The Sheriff's Office notified Nebraska Game and Parks.
This is the first such reported sighting in months, after 24 reports were made between late June and early August. Most of those reported sightings were on the eastern edge of the city of York. — World-Herald News Service
