Vandals recently struck at least 10 businesses in southwest Omaha, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
The affected businesses are in the area of 144th Street and West Center Road. They were hit between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. Oct. 13, Omaha police said.
Joe Padilla, store manager of Advance Auto Parts, 3420 S. 143rd Plaza, said Thursday that a bay window and the back windows of two company vehicles were knocked out, along with a customer's car windows.
The cost to replace the windows was about $1,000 each, he said.
Trash was dumped on the ground, and cigarette butts were dumped on a customer's car, Padilla said, but nothing was stolen from the customer or business.
Michael Bodenner, managing partner of Longhorn Steakhouse, told Omaha police that 20 of the restaurant's double-paned windows were damaged. Rocks had been thrown through some of the windows. Longhorn Steakhouse is at 3040 S. 143rd Plaza.
Other vandalized businesses were Brakes Plus, Applebee's, Consolidated Kitchens & Fireplaces, Oakview Dental, CD Tradepost Music Movies Games, Subway, Happy Mattress and Vitamin Shoppe.
Officer Michael Pecha, a police spokesman, said no arrests had been made. Police ask that anyone with information contact them at 402-444-5652, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 444-STOP.
