Lincoln Pius X shortstop Kat Woolman said Wednesday night that she accepted a scholarship offer to play at Nebraska.
Woolman, who helped lead the Thunderbolts to their first Class B championship since 2003 by hitting .542 and driving in 47 runs, had been committed to Arkansas for the past year but changed her mind after an Oct. 15 visit to NU.
“I just had a change of heart,” Woolman said. “Both universities are great, the coaching staffs are awesome, but I just decided that Nebraska is the best place for me.”
Woolman said staying close to home was a factor in her decision, but not the primary reason she picked the Huskers.
“That was a plus, but it was all about the comfort level with the team for me,” Woolman said.
