KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jordan Rideout scored 4:03 into overtime as UMKC defeated the University of Nebraska at Omaha men's soccer team 2-1 Saturday afternoon.
In front of a home crowd of 313, the Kangaroos improved to 6-7-2. The Mavericks fell to 4-9-1 and 2-2-1 in Summit League play.
UMKC's first goal came just before halftime on a free kick by David Sarabia.
UNO's Giovanni Giattino tied the game with a goal at the 62:09 mark. Logan Mendez was credited with an assist on the goal.
The winning goal came on a cross that Rideout scored with his head past goalie Matt Grosey.
The Kangaroos outshot the Mavs 13-6 in the game. Giattino had half of UNO's shots.
The third-place Mavs take on Summit League leader Oakland to close out their home schedule Sunday, Oct. 28 at noon.
