Molly Schuyler, female food challenge wunderkind, has taken down two more local food challenges just this week.
Earlier today, she took down Nebraska Brewing Company's Death Pizza challenge, a five-pound pie covered in sauce made with notoriously hot ghost chili peppers.
Schuyler, the first person to try the challenge, finished in 24 minutes, 56 seconds.
"I was a little bit out of it at the end," she said.
This was her first spicy challenge, and she said she wasn't a fan.
"It was the hardest one by far," she said. "I have burns on my hands. But at the end they gave me a cookie. It tasted amazing after that thing."
Schuyler is the first person to finish the challenge and gets to name the pizza. She called it "Molly's Humble Pie."
It comes on a hand-stretched crust topped with boom-boom sauce, habanero peppers, pepper jack cheese, spicy hamburger and andouille sausage. The baked pie is then topped with rings of the ghost chili "death sauce." Challengers have an hour to eat it.
On Tuesday, she and a partner, her friend Tyler Danforth, ate the Big Joe Pizza at Frank's Pizzeria in 28 minutes.
The Big Joe is 12 pounds of pizza: four pounds of crust, two pounds of cheese, two pounds of pepperoni, two pounds of sausage and 26 ounces of sauce. Two challengers must eat it in one hour, and winners receive a free pizza every month for a year.
Schuyler has been mowing through food challenges all over town since August, when she became the first woman to finish the Stellanator burger, in 15 minutes.
The she took down the Goliath burger, at Sinful Burger, in 17 minutes. Then the five-pound Big Axe calzone at Old River Pizza Company in Council Bluffs; 11 minutes.
Last week, she beat the Pig Wings Challenge at Starsky's, featured on Travel Channel's “Man vs. Food Nation" in 38 minutes.
Her main challenger in most of the food challenges is professional eater Randy Santel of Overland Park, Kan. The only record he still holds against Schuyler is for the Stellanator Challenge, 7 minutes and 26 seconds.
