Omaha police were investigating two separate cases, one in north Omaha and a second in South Omaha, early Wednesday in which injured people were taken to an Omaha hospital by a private vehicle or treated at the scene.
About 2:45 a.m. in north Omaha, two men, 19-year-old and a 21-year-old, were shot in a vehicle on 38th Street between Sprague and Spaulding Streets, police said. They were taken by private vehicle to Creighton University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.
When officers arrived at the scene, they were unable to located any victims or witnesses.
An investigation led officers to a home on North 38th Street, where people questioned there offered little information about the shooting.
Police said the investigation was continuing.
About 3 a.m., a train struck a vehicle near 21st and Madison Streets in South Omaha. The injured person was treated by rescue-squad personnel at the scene and was not taken to a hospital.
