The Southwest Iowa Narcotics Task Force arrested six people Wednesday in a prostitution bust at a local hotel.
The sting occurred over the course of the afternoon, with the first arrest at 12:47 p.m. and the last at 10:25 p.m., according to the Council Bluffs Police Department. The location of the sting was not disclosed.
The task force – comprising Council Bluffs Police and deputies from the Pottawattamie, Mills and Harrison county sheriff's offices – worked with the FBI Great Plains Innocence Lost Task Force on the case, Sgt. Bob Christensen said.
The Innocence Lost Task Force targets juveniles involved in prostitution. Christensen said authorities targeted youthful-looking women on prostitution websites and set up a meeting at the location.
A 31-year-old Lincoln man was arrested after soliciting an undercover female officer posing as a prostitute. Five Omaha women between the ages of 21 and 44 were arrested on suspicion of prostitution.
The suspects were booked into the Pottawattamie County Jail.
