A 43-year-old man was shot with a pellet gun when three masked men entered a Council Bluffs home Friday morning, according to police.
Council Bluffs police were called to a home invasion in the 3600 block of Fifth Avenue shortly after 7 a.m.
They found at least one man injured at the scene. Rodney Doss was transported to the Nebraska Medical Center with a head injury, according to his brother Ron Doss.
Ron Doss said the intruders entered the back of the house owned by his 70-year-old mother. Ron said his brothers Rodney and Ray Doss live at the home with his mother.
Ron Doss said his brothers were trying to fight off the masked men when Rodney was shot in the face with a pellet gun.
Police on Friday afternoon described the injuries as superficial.
Ron Doss said he didn't know of anyone who would want to do harm to his family.
"I have no idea why someone would do this," Ron Doss said. "There's nothing in there that's valuable."
