A rush-hour accident in La Vista sent a bicyclist to the hospital and closed a busy intersection for most of the morning.
Capt. D.J. Barcal of the La Vista Police Department said officers were investigating whether sun glare was a factor in the accident at 84th and Harrison Streets.
Miguel R. Corio, 28, of Ralston, was bicycling south on 84th Street at about 8 a.m. While in the crosswalk at Harrison Street, he was struck by a pickup truck, Barcal said.
The Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by Stanley J. Young, 50, of Papillion, was turning east onto Harrison Street from 84th Street.
No citations had been issued. Barcal said speed, alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the crash. Investigators will be testing whether glare from the sun contributed to the accident, he said.
The intersection was closed for nearly three hours.
