WAHOO, Neb. — Saunders County has approved an agreement on Lake Wanahoo financing.
At its meeting Tuesday, the Saunders County Board voted to pay half the $550,000 owed to the Lower Platte North Natural Resources District through a settlement agreement.
The City of Wahoo is expected to pay the remaining half of the debt, and the agreement is on the City Council's Thursday agenda.
The NRD, Wahoo and Saunders County had originally agreed to be equal partners in the Lake Wanahoo project. However when expenses on the delayed project began to add up, the city and county disputed a 2010 invoice.
In June, the city and county agreed to pay a combined $550,000 to the NRD as their remaining financial obligation on the project.
