World-Herald Poll results that showed Rep. Lee Terry with a double digit lead over Douglas County Treasurer John Ewing among registered voters echo the Terry camp's internal polling, campaign officials said.
“This does not change our strategy, which is to reach out to all voters everywhere,” Terry campaign manager David Boomer said.
But the Ewing campaign said the race appeared closer in previous polls that looked more at who is likely to vote in the Nov. 6 elections. The World-Herald Poll's sample of likely voters showed essentially the same 13-percentage point gap.
Ewing's campaign manager, Rebekah Caruthers, said voters would become more familiar with Ewing after a $215,000 ad campaign beginning in October and a debate the same month.
“Voters are going to see that they definitely have a choice between two different points of view,” she said.
