A pedestrian and a motorcyclist suffered minor injuries Sunday afternoon in a midtown Omaha accident when a dog chased the pedestrian into a street.
The accident occurred about 1:30 p.m. near 60th and Arbor Streets.
According to Omaha police, the 36-year-old Omaha pedestrian was southbound on the sidewalk on the west side of 60th Street when the unrestrained dog ran chased the man into the street. The pedestrian was struck by a southbound 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by a 26-year-old Shelby, Iowa, man.
The pedestrian, who suffered broken facial bones, was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital.
The dog's owner, a 39-year-old Omaha man, was cited by Nebraska Humane Society for keeping an unrestrained dog.
