Omaha police arrested two people — a 15-year-old and a 23-year-old — in connection with a shooting Sunday that wounded two people at 16th and Locust Streets.
Police were called to Chubb's Foods at 2905 N. 16th St. at 5:41 p.m. Sunday.
The occupants of a passing vehicle fired numerous shots at the two, police said. Police identified the victims as Mitchell Milford, 35, and Darnell Matthews, 26, both of Omaha. They were taken to the Nebraska Medical Center.
Milford was no longer a patient at the hospital Monday evening. The hospital was not releasing any information about Matthews' condition.
The two suspects were arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and obstructing an officer. Police said officers located them near 39th and Burdette Streets in a vehicle that matched the description of the car used in the drive-by shooting.
