MAXWELL, Neb. – Three employees of Maxwell Public Schools have been ticketed for failure to report child abuse or neglect.
Danny Twarling, 61, of North Platte, along with Aubrey Boucher, 47, of Maxwell, and Ryan Jones, 35, of North Platte, were cited with a misdemeanor Tuesday as a result of an investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol. According to the school district website, Twarling is the superintendent; Boucher is the high school principal; and Jones is the head wrestling coach.
The patrol began its investigation in April after the agency learned of an alleged sexual assault involving a student in the Maxwell High School wrestling program. The investigation led to several more potential victims of sexual assault, according to the patrol.
Lt. Lynn Williams said that the investigation is ongoing, and that there is the potential for more victims to emerge and additional arrests or citations.
Maxwell is near North Platte.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the patrol's Troop D headquarters at 308-535-8047.
