The Nebraska State Patrol has identified the Iowa woman who died Sunday following a car-motorcycle accident in Sarpy County.
The patrol said Barbara Truitt, 34, of Des Moines was a passenger on the motorcycle driven by Kyle Cihal, 30, of Omaha.
Truitt was flown by medical helicopter to the Nebraska Medical Center, where she died of her injuries.
Cihal was transported by ambulance to the medical center. His condition was not available Tuesday.
According the troopers, the motorcycle collided with a car on Nebraska Highway 31, just off the Gretna exit of Interstate 80, about 3:15 p.m.
The driver of the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix, Nathan Deschaine, 23, Fort Riley, Kan., and a female passenger in his vehicle were uninjured.
The Grand Prix was southbound on Highway 31 and attempted to turn east – or the wrong way – onto the Interstate's westbound exit ramp, the patrol said. The driver stopped, but the motorcycle, heading north on the highway, struck the passenger side of the car.
Truitt and Cihal were wearing helmets, the patrol said.
