HARKIN: GIVE EASTWOOD THE EASY CHAIR
U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, took a shot at Dirty Harry on Tuesday while speaking to Iowa's delegation to the Democratic National Convention.
Harkin was riffing on Clint Eastwood's bit at the Republican National Convention last week in Tampa, Fla., that featured the actor speaking to an empty chair stand-in for President Barack Obama.
Harkin called Eastwood the perfect icon for the GOP, "an old angry white man spewing incoherent nonsense."
Harkin told his fellow Iowans that the Republicans want to take the country back in time, to before Teddy Roosevelt.
"We can't allow that to happen," Harkin said.

Nebraska is kool. Just ask a representative from the Charlotte visitors bureau who spoke to the Nebraska delegation Tuesday morning about all the tourism attractions in this city.
The woman had done her homework, saying she did a little research on Nebraska the night before. "The coolest thing I found out about Nebraska was Kool-Aid was invented there."
No mention of football.
