Artifact show open for show, tell, more
The Nebraska Archaeological Society invites the public to attend the eighth annual Nebraska Artifact Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Seward County Fairgrounds in Seward. Admission is free.
Special speakers will give presentations.
Also expect flint knapping, native plants, Junior Ranger activities from the National Park service, atlatl (spear) throwing, 100 tables with prehistoric artifacts and fossil items, and artifact and bone identification by experts.
Food and refreshments will be available.
Musicians ages 9-18 can play mariachi
Learn traditional and contemporary Latino songs as part of a youth mariachi now forming. It will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday nights, beginning Sept. 10, at 2325 I St. Violinists, guitarists and trumpet players, ages 9-18, with some experience are welcome.
Band members will receive instruction in their instrument and play together as a band in these sessions organized by Arts for All. The cost for the sessions is $7.
