Former Gretna City Administrator Colleen Lawry pleaded not guilty Friday to a felony charge in Sarpy County District Court.
The theft by deception charge was filed in June, and it carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. Prosecutors allege Lawry received more than $3,000 in overpayments for educational reimbursements from the City of Gretna while attending Bellevue University.
Lawry was fired in May and charged with theft after allegedly misusing nearly $1,000 from a Gretna senior citizens fund. In June, Lawry pleaded not guilty to that felony count.
