Nebraska 2013 commit Christian Lacouture wanted to get to the program as soon as possible. And Lincoln Southwest will be the beneficiary.
The four-star defensive end is transferring to the Silver Hawks’ program, where he will finish his final semester of school before enrolling in January.
Both Lacouture and Southwest coach Mark King confirmed the transfer. The talented defensive end will be eligible immediately. Lacouture didn’t return phone calls Monday night.
The family made the decision to move after Lacouture’s mother found a job in Lincoln.
King called it a fortunate transfer situation for his Southwest program. The coach said Lacouture’s prior relationship with 2013 commit Josh Banderas — a linebacker for Southwest — helped in adding the talented four-star defensive end, who played his junior season for A&M Consolidated in College Station, Texas.
