PHOTO SHOWCASE: Berkshire Hathaway at Regency Court

In town for the annual Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting this weekend, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates play a game of table tennis with San Jose Olympian Ariel Hsing at Regency Court.

This was a rematch.

In 2007, Buffett and Gates faced off against Hsing, then only 9-years-old.

Berkshire meeting also means shopping

Tulip named for Buffett among Berkshire side events

You know it's Berkshire Week when tulip bulbs named Buffett, an 8-foot-tall asthma inhaler and Occupy Corporatism come to Omaha.

This year, two Dutch freelance journalists are bringing a new tulip, named “The Warren Buffett, a.k.a. The Wild Warren,” to Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s annual meeting. The “red, strong, double-leaved, elegant and powerful tulip” is already growing at the Ruijter Flower Bulbs Inc. farm in northern Holland, multiplying to produce enough bulbs for sale.

Shoe features Buffett crossing finish line

Brooks' new shoe follows the meeting's “stars and stripes” theme, with red, white and blue trim on a silver body and Berkshire's BRK ticker symbol on the tongue. Runners will slide their feet onto sock liners with a cartoon of Warren Buffett, chairman and CEO of Berkshire, as a runner crossing the finish line of a race.

Brooks, based in Bothell, Wash., will bring 3,000 pairs, priced at $120 each, said marketing manger Erin Hofto. The shoe is a dressed-up version of Brooks' best-selling model, the Adrenaline GTS. Shirts, jackets and other running gear also will have the cartoon.

Brooks is among three new exhibitors are making extra efforts to fit in with Berkshire Hathaway Inc. companies at Saturday's shareholders meeting. Read more here.
