A 56-year-old man died and a 12-year-old boy was hospitalized following a one-car accident Sunday just east of Curtis, Neb.
Robert Magee of Curtis was pronounced dead at the Great Plains Regional Hospital in North Platte, according to a statement from the Frontier County Sheriff's Office. A 12-year-old boy is being treated at the hospital.
According to investigators, Magee was eastbound on Nebraska Highway 23 about 8:10 p.m. when the car failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into a ravine about 2½ miles east of Curtis. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt and Magee was ejected from the car.
Authorites have not released the name or condition of boy traveling with Magee. The accident remains under investigation.
