As part of the yearlong celebration of Union Pacific Railroad's 150th anniversary, a legendary steam locomotive, No. 844, has been traveling portions of the U.P. system and making appearances in communities along the way.
Here, on Thursday, 844 chugs along east of Arlington, Neb., on tracks that run parallel with U.S. Highway 30. The train arrived Friday in Council Bluffs, where it will remain until it departs from Union Pacific's Heritage Park, 1100 Avenue G, at 8 a.m. Sunday for a trip to Nebraska City and Falls City, Neb.
