What's new: A dispute between the Old Mattress Factory Bar & Grill and the nearby Hilton Omaha could be headed toward a resolution brokered by the Omaha City Council.
What we already knew: Managers of the north downtown bar sought the council's approval for a license to operate a beer garden with live music until 2 a.m. for events on July 4 and July 6.
But late-night noise from similar parties disturbs some guests of the nearby hotel, said Robert Watson, the hotel's general manager.
What's next: The Mattress Factory's operators said they were open to compromise.
So, the council and Mattress Factory agreed that music at the bar's summer parties will end at 1 a.m. The eatery must also hire a sound engineer to design a stage to help control sound levels.
