LAS CRUCES, N.M — The Nebraska softball team ran its winning streak to four Saturday by topping Stephen F. Austin 9-0 and Weber State 12-4 at the Troy Cox Classic.
Against Stephen F. Austin, Tatum Edwards (4-1) pitched a one-hitter and sister Taylor Edwards went 2 for 2 with two RBIs.
Nebraska (6-3) fell behind 2-1 against Weber State before exploding for nine runs in the third inning. The Huskers had just five hits, but were aided by nine walks and three Weber State errors.
Gabby Banda went 3 for 4 with three RBIs in the five-inning game. Ashley Hagemann (3-2) gave up a pair of two-run homers but struck out 10 to move into fifth place on NU's all-time chart.
Nebraska wraps up play at the tournament at 10 a.m. Sunday against host New Mexico State.
