Suttle's mother dies at 87

Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle's 87-year-old mother died Saturday night at a medical facility in West Virginia, his spokeswoman said.

Wanda S. Suttle of St. Albans, W.Va., died of natural causes at Putnam Care and Rehabilitation Center in nearby Hurricane, W.Va.

Wanda Suttle was raised on a farm near Hurricane and was an accountant, according to a statement from Aida Amoura, a spokeswoman for the mayor.

Other than Jim Suttle, Wanda Suttle is survived by two children, Jan Suttle Johnson of Crownsville, Md., and Jill Suttle Morrissett of King George, Va.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday in St. Albans, where she had lived for more than 50 years.
