Minneapolis — The No. 7 Nebraska wrestling team dropped its second consecutive dual to a top-five team, falling to No. 4 Minnesota 26-7 Sunday.
The Huskers, who dropped four matches by three points or less, fell to 14-2 on the year and 5-3 in the Big Ten. Minnesota is 10-3 and 7-1.
The Huskers led off the dual with a 6-0 decision from redshirt freshman Robert Kokesh at 165 pounds. But then NU lost eight straight matches before seventh-ranked James Green ended the dual with the Huskers' only other win. Green scored an 11-3 major decision over Bart Reiter at 157 pounds.
The Huskers return to the mat Sunday, travel to Stillwater, Okla., to participate in NWCA National Duals. Nebraska's first-round matchup will be announced in the next week. Teams in NU's region include Oklahoma State, Ohio State, Wyoming, Boise State and Chattanooga.
