Nebraskan threatens judge

GERING, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say a Scottsbluff man tossed a container of water at the judge who sentenced him to jail for shoplifting. The container missed.

Judge James Worden on Monday gave Philip Enriquez, 28, six months in jail. Enriquez had pleaded guilty in exchange for prosecutors dropping a charge of resisting arrest.

Authorities say that after the sentence was pronounced, Enriquez picked up the container that had been sitting on the defense's table and hurled it at Worden.

Authorities say Enriquez was wrestled to the floor and taken away after making threats to the judge.
