Learn about eagles at weekend events

Bald Eagle Days will be Saturday and Sunday at the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center, four miles west of Yankton, S.D., on Nebraska Highway 121 just above Gavins Point Power Plant.

Presenters from the Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota will give raptor education programs at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. both days.

The programs will feature live raptors, including a bald eagle. Seating is limited to 70 people. Besides the programs, the visitor center will have spotting scopes set up along the river, eagle displays and trivia, and a children's activity table. All activities are free and open to the public.

Bald Eagle Days are sponsored by the Army Corps of Engineers and the National Park Service.
