A 26-year-old Norfolk man was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison for his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute more than 200 grams of methamphetamine in the Norfolk area in November 2010.

Jose Rosario Lopez-Santiago was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Laurie Smith Camp.

Lopez-Santiago's involvement consisted of him collecting drug proceeds owed. He is a Mexican citizen so he will be deported upon the completion of his prison term.

His conviction was the result of a joint investigation that included the Madison County Sheriff's Office and the West Point Police Department, among others.
