SLOAN, Iowa (AP) — Firefighters from several departments extinguished a grass fire Wednesday that forced closure of old Highway 75 near Sloan in northwest Iowa.
Woodbury County Sheriff’s Deputy Kent Roepke said the fire, which was reported about 5:30 p.m., blackened the west ditch of the highway for about one mile. The flames were stopped at 120th Street around 7:15 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
