2 arrested in pot case

COZAD, Neb. — Two California men were arrested Wednesday with 50 pounds of marijuana in their possession, the Dawson County Sheriff's Office said.

Russell Pell Perna, 27, of Westminster, Calif., and Alberto Hernandez, 26, of Corona, Calif., were charged in Dawson County Court with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Intent to distribute is a Class III felony and carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison or a $20,000 fine.

Perna and Hernandez are being held in Dawson County Jail on $50,000 bond.
