Police called to shooting

Omaha police were called to a shooting Sunday near 42nd Street and Ames Avenue.

A man was shot in the arm about 2:20 p.m. outside the Ames Avenue Convenience Store, Lt. Staci Witkowski said.

The victim drove himself to Creighton University Medical Center with injuries that were non-life-threatening, Witkowski said.

Police were searching for the gunman.
