CSG International lays off 100 workers

By Ross Boettcher
WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

CSG International on Wednesday laid off 100 workers companywide as the Denver-based customer management and billing software provider determined staff reductions were required to fit its 2012 budget.

The company, which is building a new Omaha office campus at 180th Street and West Dodge Road that is due to open in August 2012, employs about 3,000 people worldwide and 1,200 to 1,300 in Omaha. CSG officials would not say how many of the layoffs were at its Omaha operations.

Bret Griess, CSG's Omaha-based chief operating officer, said the company expects its 2012 revenue to increase, but also expenses tied to health care and taxes, requiring staff reductions across multiple business units, including CSG's professional services group and sales.

Laid-off employees all will receive severance packages, Griess said.
