Feel the “rush” of Cirque Mechanics’ high-flying acrobatic production of “Boom Town” Friday at the Orpheum Theater.
This family-friendly show centers on two saloons in a 1860’s frontier town competing for prosperity during a gold rush.
“Boom Town” boasts unique and impressive mechanical appratuses that serve as both the back-drop of their acrobatic adventure story and props for their cast of award-winning artists, acrobats, dancers, actors, jugglers and comics.
Huge sets inspired by early mining equipment will transport audiences into this high-energy, toe-tapping adventure of prospectors’ search for gold.
Critics have praised “Boom Town” as entertaining, heart-stopping and able to wow audiences from “start to finish.” The modern mechanical circus aims to please with their high-flying action. Audiences will watch as performers climb telegraph poles, dance on swinging chandeliers, flip over ore carts and balance big whiskey jugs.
Cirque Mechanics “Boom Town” flys into Orpheum Theater, 409 S. 16th St., on Friday, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15-$30 and can be purchased online at TicketOmaha.com, by calling 402-345-0606 or visiting the Ticket Omaha office in the Holland Performing Arts Center, 1200 Douglas St.
