A 21-year-old Omaha college student was shot and killed after confronting a burglar who had broken through a window of his family's home, Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said Thursday.
Richard G. Harrison heard a pounding on the door and then someone coming through a window at the home near 58th Street and Grand Avenue, Kleine said.
The burglar shot Harrison multiple times, including at least once in the face, Kleine said.
Police arrested Endre B. Turner, 22, on Wednesday in connection with the Sept. 29 daytime slaying.
Kleine said Turner will be charged with first-degree murder and weapon use.
Turner was on parole, having just gotten out of prison in June after serving four years for burglary and theft.
Harrison, son of Jenise and Richard K. Harrison, had been working at Midtown Cinema and was attending Metropolitan Community College.
Harrison was a Central High School football player; his funeral was packed with friends, former teammates and teachers.
