BENEFITS OF BLOGGING
Talking about an illness provides an emotional release for patients. Sue Stensland, manager of social work at the Nebraska Medical Center, says blogging provides similar help.
» Reduces stress and anxiety.
» Enables patient to share emotions with a broader group of people. Some patients worry about constantly burdening those closest to them.
» Patient doesn't feel as alone, particularly if others who faced similar problems offer feedback.
» Patient gains a sense of purpose by sharing possible treatments and other ideas with fellow patients.
