2 men killed in fatal crash

Two Nebraska men died Saturday evening when their car ran a stop sign near Hallam, Neb., south of Lincoln.

Dillon J. Slama, 20, of rural Wilber and Frank J. Cerveny, 20, of Clatonia were pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office. Neither man was wearing a seat belt.

Investigators determined that Slama was driving a 1988 Dodge Dynasty east on Pella Road about 6 p.m. when it ran a stop sign. The Dodge was hit on the driver's side by a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by Victor M. Cabrera, 44, of Crete, Neb., that was southbound on Southwest 114th Street.

All six people in the Toyota were wearing seat belts. They were treated at the Crete Area Medical Center and released. — Kevin Cole
