PACIFIC JUNCTION, Iowa -- Gov. Terry Branstad toured flood-affected areas in western Iowa today, saying he wants help residents cut through the bureaucracy to get information and assistance.
"We want to try to do what we can, and we certainly want to maximize whatever kind of federal assistance we can receive as well," Branstad said during an appearance at A&M Green Power, a farm equipment dealership just west of Interstate 29 that has relocated its inventory because of the flood threat.
Branstad also made stops in Blencoe and Missouri Valley, talking with residents and reporters in both towns.
