Storage firm opens Omaha office

A Kansas City, Mo.-based company that sells and leases trailers and storage containers has expanded its operations to Omaha.

American Trailer & Storage opened an office and storage lot near 102nd and I Streets last month.

AT&S works with trucking firms, manufacturers, distributors and retailers, among other clients. For example, the company provides containers to retailers like Walmart that need space to store extra merchandise outside of stores.

The company currently is busy providing containers to flood victims looking for a place to keep their belongings, said Rick Honan, the company's president.

He said AT&S has been developing a customer base in Omaha for several years, particularly after it opened in office in Lincoln in 2007. “This is an attempt to gain more market share and better support for our customers,” he said.

The company also has an office in St. Louis. The manager of the operation in Lincoln is overseeing the Omaha expansion, but Honan said AT&S will likely hire a few workers in Omaha within the year.
