It's official. The Nighthawks will play football at TD Ameritrade Park in downtown Omaha.

The Nighthawks and the Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority announced their lease agreement Wednesday morning. Details of the lease were not immediately available.

"The addition of professional football brings a whole new element to the sports and entertainment offered on the TD Ameritrade Park Omaha/Qwest Center Omaha campus," Roger Dixon, MECA's CEO and president, said in a press release.

TD Ameritrade Park, the new home of the College World Series and the Creighton Bluejays baseball team, seats 24,000. It is operated by MECA.

The Nighthawks, which brought the United Football League to Omaha, played at Rosenblatt Stadium last year. It will release its 2011 schedule in coming weeks, according to the press release.
