Nebraska authorities were investigating the death of a motorist in a traffic accident near Kearney.
The Nebraska State Patrol said a 39-year-old woman died Thursday in a collision on Interstate 80 four miles west of Kearney.
The patrol said a pickup driven by Julie Weir, of Young, Ariz., crossed the median and ran into a semitrailer truck. The patrol said Weir died in the collision. The trucker and his passenger were not hurt.
The patrol said poor weather conditions were likely a factor in the accident.
Meanwhile, the Saunders County Sheriff's Department said a tow truck ran off a rural road into an embankment a little before 6 p.m. Thursday.
The department said the driver, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
It's unclear whether slippery conditions contributed to the accident.
