The Nebraska Crossing outlet mall could get its planned makeover, thanks to Gretna voters.
In a special, vote-by-mail election, Gretna residents OK’d diverting some of the city’s sales taxes to help redevelop the outlet mall. Owners want to double its size and recruit such high-end stores as Saks and Coach.
The plan was approved on a vote of 1,342 to 93.
To help finance the project, which would rename the mall Life Outlets at Nebraska Crossing, the developers asked for financial assistance from the City of Gretna and that led to the special election.
