LINCOLN, Neb. — A University of Nebraska mailroom worker has been charged with theft after police say he stole 2010 season football tickets and sold them online.
Police say 49-year-old Wesley Pruitt, of Lincoln, was arrested Wednesday on theft charges. He was released from custody after posting $300 bond.
Police believe Pruitt stole the two tickets and sold them online. In the ad, the tickets were being sold for $1,600. The investigation began in September when two men were turned away from Memorial Stadium because their tickets had been canceled.
Police say the tickets' original owner, who is from Salt Lake City, canceled them after they didn't arrive in the mail.
A telephone call placed to a listing for Pruitt rang unanswered.
