    NU-Kansas: Game replay

    NOTICED

How much better Nebraska’s defense is with Alfonzo Dennard on the field. Two lockdown corners helped make Kansas inept, something NU couldn’t do at Iowa State when Dennard was out with a concussion.

    PECULIAR PLAY

When was the last time Ben Cotton took a snap under center? The Husker tight end looked as if he might with 1:09 left in the first half. NU was in punt formation when Cotton stepped under center from his up-back position. Cotton barked a few times, trying to draw KU offside. Nebraska took the delay-of-game penalty.

    BAD IDEA

Bo Pelini going bonkers on officials in the first half —- apparently for their failure to call interference on KU’s punt coverage unit. He might have been right, but his five-minute tirade can’t help his team. Save your energy for more important fights, coach.

    RAVE REVIEW

Rex Burkhead does a lot of things well. But his best play Saturday was a blitz pickup on a 21-yard completion to Mike McNeill in the first quarter. It prevented a sack, and Nebraska scored four plays later.
