A major die-off of carp has occurred in the lake at Calamus State Recreation Area near Burwell, Neb.
There will be limited clean-up of the dead fish from the shoreline, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
Dead carp were first reported Sunday. The cause of the die-off is unknown. Game and Parks biologists have taken samples of live carp to test for Koi Herpes virus, which impacts only carp.
