Q: Is it hard to fathom that you're into your last season at Nebraska?
A: “It's gone by fast. My sister (Alyson) is going to be a freshman this year. She's moving in Monday for (sorority) rush. I remember my freshman year. You get to be a senior and it seems like just yesterday, but it has been a long time.”
Q: Did your parents tell you to look out for your sister?
A: “They don't tell me to, but I'm going to. She's not too happy about it. She knows enough of the guys that she's got a lot of big brothers here. I'm excited. It'll be good to see her down here. I can give her a little bit of guidance that I didn't have. I'll really try to stay out of her hair, but I tell her I won't.”
Q: Who are your closest friends on the team?
A: “The first three that come to mind are Mike McNeill, Mike Smith and Keith Williams. We live together and really hang out with everybody — Zac Lee, Cody Green, Ben Cotton, Ryan Hill, (Mychael) McClure, Jake Long, all the tight ends and most of the offensive line. Pretty much everybody on the offense and everybody in my class, I see quite a bit off the field.”
Q: How did you feel about McNeill's move to receiver?
A: “It was all right. It's where he wanted to be. It's where he can help the team the most. We were happy to have him make the move.”
Q: Do you miss him?
A: “I miss having him in meetings, because now I sit by myself. When I have to laugh at something, I'm kind of by myself.”
Q: But are you bigger than McNeill now?
A: “He's a little guy. He never liked being a big boy, so that's all right. He's so worried about his figure, anyway.”
