LINCOLN — One concern the Nebraska men’s basketball team won’t have in 2010-11 is road weariness.

In the season’s first 69 days from the Nov. 3 opener, the Huskers will be out of town for just five of them.

NU starts with four home games (two are exhibitions with Peru State and Bellevue). Then comes a Nov. 18-to-21 trip to San Juan for the eight-team Puerto Rico Tipoff Classic, where the Huskers face Vanderbilt in the first round.

After that jaunt, Nebraska plays 10 straight games at home, the last of which is the Jan. 8 Big 12 opener with Iowa State.

Only once in conference play does NU play two straight road games — Jan. 12 at Missouri and Jan. 15 at Kansas.

“I’m excited with the mixture of teams we have on the schedule,’’ fifth-year coach Doc Sadler said Thursday. “We are fortunate to have the 10 days of practice and the trip to the Bahamas before the season because we are going to have to play at a higher level out of the gate.’’

Among the featured home games for Nebraska (15-18) are Nov. 27 with Southern California, Dec. 5 with Creighton and Dec. 11 with TCU.

In Big 12 play, Nebraska has home games against Kansas, Texas and Kansas State in February.

In Puerto Rico, NU plays Vanderbilt (24-9) in the first round Nov. 18 at 12:30 p.m. CST. The other game in that bracket is West Virginia vs. Davidson.

The other side of the bracket has North Carolina vs. Hofstra and Minnesota vs. Western Kentucky.
