Who's faster? Two soon-to-be Huskers found out

6:59 p.m.: Two future NU wide receivers went head-to-head in two short-distance running events at the Nebraska state track and field meet, though neither ended the day with a title.

But Tyler Evans, who signed with Nebraska in February, will have some bragging rights over Centennial's Tyler Wullenwaber when the two start their NU careers next fall.

With a time of 10.75 seconds, Evans finished third in the Class B 100-meter finals at Burke Stadium Saturday, beating the fourth-place Wullenwaber (10.83). Evans then ran the 200-meter dash in 22.06 seconds for a second-place finish. Wullenwaber, a Nebraska walk-on receiver, was third in that event (22.14).

Wullenwaber did have reason to celebrate Saturday, though. He won the Class B title in the long jump and finished third overall, leaping 23 feet, 7 inches.

In other action Saturday, incoming Husker freshman Andrew Rodriguez finished third in the Class B discuss finals. The offensive lineman was second in the shot put Friday.
